Portland Cap instruction clarification

Hello!! I am venturing back into knitting and am struggling to be confident in a particular instruction on a toque that I’m working on…

RND 23:

  • sl 4 sts to the cn and hold to front, k2, sl p sts back to LH ndl, p these 2 sts, k2 sts from the cn, p2; rep from * to end

So I can slip the 4 stitches to the cable needle.

K2 off the LH needle?
Slip those 2 back to the LH needle?
Then purl those same two stitches?
Then K2 off the cable needle?
Then P2 off the cable needle.

Then repeat

Or am I overthinking this or mistaken?

Thank you ever so much!!

Welcome to KH!

It looks like you slip 4sts to a cable needle,
Knit the next 2sts from the left hand needle,
Slip 2 purl sts from the cable needle back to the left hand needle and purl these 2sts,
Slip 2 remaining sts from the cable needle back to the left hand needle and knit these 2 sts.
Finally, purl the next 2sts from the left hand needle.
