Knitting a poncho and working on the back panel. Just want to understand the wording-cont even in pattern until work from beg measures approx 23”. Question: from beg of pattern or from beg of the cast on garter stitching? I know that I am overthinking this…. But just want to make sure. Thank you!

It should be from the cast on. If there’s a schematic you may be able check with that but the usual meaning is from the cast on.
