Hello, Weekend hobby here, I am still working on the Loin Brand One-Stitch Adult Cardigan #957. I am starting the left front and am confused by the instructions on the pocket opening. I have never made anything with a pocket. After the 8 sts then skip 15 sts where does the excess yarn go when I pickup and stitch the last 7 stitches? I am be reading to much into this. Can someone simplify this for me. Below is the instructions lines from my pattern;
LEFT FRONT: Ch 31 Row 1: (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc across – 30sc. Cont in sc until piece measures 6 in. from beg, ending with a WS row.
Pocket opening: Next row (RS): Sc in each of next 8 sts, sc in each of 15 sc of one pocket lining, skip next 15 sc, sc in each of last 7 sts. Cont in sc until piece measures 9 from beg, end with a WS row. Shape

The 15 skipped sts form the front of the pocket. They will be replaced by the 15sts of the pocket liner which will sit to the back of the skipped sts. The skipped sts will buckle out a slight bit to form the pocket opening. You shouldn’t have any excess yarn. The sts will go from the lining directly to the last 7sts.
