i can not understand how to cast on in the pattern way plz any one explain the red section to me
Scarf: Knit back and forth long-ways. [COLOR=“Red”]Bend the circular needle double and cast on 195 sts on 2 needles size 7 mm [US 10 ½] with 1 thread of each quality (this is done to make the casting on edge more elastic). Pull 1 needle out [/COLOR]and knit 2 rows of garter sts. Continue in M.1 with 4 sts in garter sts each side. When the piece measures approx 28 cm [11’’] – adjust to 1 whole repeat in the height – knit 2 rows of garter sts before casting off very loosely – knit the first row of M.1 whilst binding off (to make the binding off edge wavy too).
Casting on over 2 needles will make your cast on stitches large and loose. After the stitches are cast on, you slide out one of the circular needles so you’re ready to knit, you will then have large cast on stitches on your cable. It also sounds like there are two balls of yarn involved and you hold them together and cast on as if they are one strand.
Just hold two needles together (points in same direction) and CO over both of them. Then pull one needle out. Your CO loops will be larger/looser. Knit from there as usual.
