Please help with Mosey Leg Warmers Pattern

I am knitting the leg warmers and there is a back panel potrion that is 22 rounds and a cable pattern portion that is 20 rounds.

Each pattern is done on each round.

My problem is, when I am at row 21, what do I do for the cable pattern portion? I will have completed all the rounds for this and still have two rows left of the back panel portion.

It doesn’t say in the pattern what to do in lieu of this on these two extra rounds and doesn’t show on the charts either.

Would I just knit when I get to this section of the row? The sts around the Back Panel and Cable Pattern are 2x2 rib.

Here is what the pattern says-
[P2, K2] once, work Back Panel over next 12 sts, [K2, P2] once, k2, work Cable Pattern over next 54 sts, working pattern repeat section 2 times, k2. This round establishes pattern for legwarmer.

Continue in pattern until all rounds of Back Panel have been worked 3 times, then work 1 round more (Round 1 of Back Panel); you will have just completed Round 7 of Cable Pattern.

Here is the link for the pattern-

When you finish the last row/round of a stitch pattern, start over again with Row 1.

But, won’t that goof it up for the Back Panel? When I started on row 1 for the Back Panel I did row one for the Cable Pattern, and this next round will be row 1, and row 3. Won’t that make it look inconsistent in the pattern?

I’ll trust you whatever you say b/c I know you have way more expertise on this than I do.:muah:

When there are 2 or more panels of different stitch patterns with a different number of rows, you just start over again at row 1 with the shorter one.

It even implies that they will be uneven in this instruction -
“Continue in pattern until all rounds of Back Panel have been worked 3 times, then work 1 round more (Round 1 of Back Panel); you will have just completed Round 7 of Cable Pattern.”

Besides - rows 1-5 of the cable panel are the same as ribbing… “P2, k6, p2, [k12, p2, k6, p2] to end.”

Just below the instructions you listed. It says to K1 round, P1 round and bind off all stitches.

Okay. . . I wondered if that was what that meant at the bottom.

Thanks so much for all your help.
