The pattern says cast on 3 stitches, row 0 (WS) slip 3 with yarn in front. When I do this my working yarn ends up at the bottom of my right needle and not the top. Is the correct? The pattern is for Fallen Cloud shawl pattern by Lisa Hannes. I’ve been knitting for about a year now (newbie). I’m usually able to figure it out or find something to help online. I appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Really good looking shawl. What are the instructions for the next 2 rows? It’s ok to post a few rows but not large portions of the pattern due to copyright restrictions. Sounds like you’ve done the right thing so far.
Thank you so much for responding. Row 2: p1, sl3wyif Row 3: k2, kfb, k1 Row 4: p2, sl3wyif. Thank you for your help.
I assume there’s an increase in row 1 (the row between row 0 and row 2).
It seems like you’re making an attached I-cord edging on the shawl. Here’s a video for a stand along I-cord. just so you can see how it works on its own. Your pattern has the I-cord as an integral part of the shawl so don’t worry about the details in the video e.g. double pointed needles.
Just follow the pattern directions as given and you should start to see the edging make sense.
After watching the video, I believe I’m knitting correctly. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me and also finding a reference for me to view.
