Hi all - I can’t decide which scarf pattern to use to knit a scarf for my MIL, so I was hoping to hear your opinions. She wants a scarf to go with a maroon coat, so I chose this yarn (colorway 10):
I have three patterns I’m trying to choose from. I’m posting the link to each pattern (if it’s online) and pictures of a test swatch which I knitted. I knitted each of them on size 13 needles.
Anyways, I just can’t decide which pattern shows off the colors of the yarn and is unique but still appropriate for an adult woman. Any and all comments and opinions are appreciated.
I like the top two. I just bought yarn for something called Curvaceous which is a cabled scarf that reminds me of the top one. The yarn is Rowan’s Colourscape Chunky from Kaffe Fassett. Anyway, I think either of the first two show the yarn well. Good luck!
Thanks everyone. I liked the first one a lot, but was worried that it was too ‘out there’ for an adult’s scarf since it looks like a long braid. However, I wanted to be sure that it was sort of unique and original and wouldn’t just look like something you can buy at a store.
I really like the first one too. But I have to say I have made lots from the 2nd pattern and it is my new stitch pattern of the moment. I have made it from lots of different types of fibers and it always works up wonderfully!! Plus it’s SO quick - which is really important to me this time of year!
