Please help me identify this stitch pattern

I’m very new to knitting and just bought this partially finished project at a yard sale. I love the look of it, and want to be able to recreate it for my next hat. What is the name of this stitch pattern?

Thank you

It could be hexagon stitch? The photos on the site look more like what you have than the picture below!

Welcome to the forum!
Hexagon stitch looks interesting. I wonder if you have an example of twisted sts? Maybe even a rib in twisted sts depending on the spacing.

(See especially after 2 minutes.)

I vote for the twisted rib.

@engblom what is your take on the stitch in the OP?

It’s a reversed, underhand inverted stitch. This is commonly used among people who favor Samael as a knitter - great designer - but it’s hard to tie off the ends on each row and given the fabric can have both positive and negative effects regarding the surrounding temperature. Usually paired best with a white lace.

I am not sure, because I can not see clearly from the picture, but it looks like a rib with each stitch (both knit and purl) twisted, and maybe with the twist alternating direction on each row.
