Pleasant surprise... crochet related

my MIL comes from a family of crafters… her mother was a master at it (she knit, crocheted, could sew anything… worked in a dress factory)… her sister crochets… etc…

I crocheted her hotpads and pot holders… she left them hanging on the kitchen wall (where FIL put them) to keep them “nice” (FIL used them with no problems <G>)

I crocheted her a large afghan, i saw her use it once…

we went to the IL’s on saturday because she bought my youngest son some birthday presents (his birthday was july 8th)… FIL’s computer is in their bedroom (MIL sleeps in her recliner in the livingroom… hasn’t slept in a bed since before dh and I got together and that’s 11 years ago) and something was messed up with it…

So i went in to fix the computer… now keep in mind FIL is the only one in that bedroom, MIL uses it to store her clothes and that’s it…

and there on MIL’s bed: the afghan I’d made her. Yep, my FIL made up MIL’s bed (they ahve those craftmatic adjustable beds, FIL has sleep apnea pretty badly) and put the afghan i’d crochted on it  cloud9

Nice story!
Good to know that somebody in that family appreciates your hard work and generosity.

That makes it all the better doesn’t it? You always wonder how a person really feels about a hand made gift unless you see them using it.

That’s a good feeling, knowing it’s getting used.
