Plastick bag knitting

Hey there I have been knitting for a year now off and on I make simple things like hats scarfs. I just learned to make a potato chip scarf but now i want to knit with plastic bags and make reusable grocery bags. I just don’t know where to begin or how I would add the handles. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it!

I’ve actually fiddled with this a bit, but I’ve been too lazy to “spin” all my bags that I’ve been saving. :slight_smile:

Eventually though, I want to knit a welcome mat on big needles, because I figure it would be pretty durable for wiping your feet on.

If you are on ravelry there are a few groups that are devoted to “plarn” knitting and crocheting. They have some good links to patterns.
