Plaited Brioche question

Starting the second set up row for this stitch and I’m confused.

1st row: selv st yf sl1 yo, k1, rep from end with selv st
2nd row: selv st p1, sl the yo made in prev row pwise and purl it, rep from, end with selv st

How do you slip purlwise and then purl the slipped stitch? It would be on the wrong needle to purl it. I’ve been googling for an hour without success.

Thank you

I can’t quite visualize it either, but maybe this will help?

My interpretation of what you posted was to purl that slipped stitch, not slip/purl it.

lol that’s the book I got the pattern from. I’ve enjoyed all the variations of brioche immensly, but this one has me totally stumped. I just flat out don’t get it. I slip the yo then purl the next stitch?? But that doesn’t make sense either it would just say to purl to end then selv st.

Guess I’ll try a swatch first (want to use this stitch on a moebius) and see what happens. Thank you for your response.

You slip it on one row then purl it on the next row.
