I am knitting a baby sweater that calls for “placing markers” and then in subsequent rows “slipping markers” on the neckband. I have tried using markers before with no problem, but I am having trouble here. Do I put the markers on the needle or put them on the yarn of the stitch I have just completed?
I would appreciate any help-baby is due in Aug. and I need to move on this.

Put the markers on the needles, as you knit/purl across the row and get to a marker slide it over to the right hand needle.
