Hi I am Susan from Michigan…I am a self taught contin…knitter and have been knitting for several years now. I am in the midst of knitting a jumper that has a lace like hem that is a picot stitch…it says to slip two as to knit, knit one then of course slip the two back…but in parens it says sk2p which is not the same as slipping two…have any of you done this stitch before? It isn’t hard just don’t want to waste alot of time. Thank you. Hope you are having splendid weather like we are currently. Susan
Hi Susan:
I have done both decreasing methods. I think because they are both means of double decreasing the writer and or printers for your pattern might have made an error. Or if your are decreasing on both ends the writer might want you to do the first method and then the second on the following decrease row. Finally, the writer might also be telling you you may decrease in the second method as an alternative; since it too is a form of double decreasing. Although, going by what you have written I would follow the first step by step method of decreasing rather than following the abbreviated decrease version. Hope my long reasoning has not caused more confusion. Good luck. ![]()
