Picot Bind-Off

I have decided to try the picot bind-off and am wondering if someone who has actually done it has any pointers.

I will be using it as the edging for a ballet sweater that was supposed to be picked up and knitted on, so my plan is to pick up and knit the stitches then start the bind off.

I have read in a few places about adding a picot edging to socks and instead of doing the bind off they did the yo k2tog and then knitted into the top stich of the sock, a way to keep from having to fold in half and sew it down later.

Any help will be appreciated,
Laura

I’ve only done it on socks, but I think it would be a nice edging for a sweater. No tips really…pretty straightforward but it does take longer than a regular BO.

As Kemp says.
Just go slowly and try to keep your tension even
so that the little points all look alike – that’s the charm of it.
