Picking up stitches

Hi everyone! I’m new here – what a great site!! I’m a newbie to knitting and to this site. I’m just finishing a throw. The end instructs "pick up and knit stitches along side edge. I’ve started this but reallly don’t like the way it looks on the “wrong” side. It is showing this ugly ridge. Does anyone have a different suggestion to finish this throw that might look more finished? :help:

You will have a ridge on the wrong side. I don’t know if there’s a better way. As long as the picking up of stitches is done consistently along the same row of knitting, at least the ridge will be the same all the way around, and over the course of a whole project, it probably won’t be that noticeable.

And it can get to looking like a chain stitch, so it’s not so bad.

Thanks so much for the advise. Guess I’ll just finish it. If I’d known better, I would have done those sides as I went.:waving:

If you crochet, a crochet edge might look better.
