My pattern says to pick up and k 3 stitches at the end of the row for front bands of a cardigan sweater. How do I pick up stitches when I’ve completed the row ? Selvedge edge???
Picking up stitches on the selvedge edge
How to pick up and knit stitches for front bands on my cardigan sweater, in the selvedge edge? Should I use a smaller needle for this ?
What is the name of your pattern?
It’s a Ravalry pattern Oh Baby! Cardigan It’s worked from the top down It’s row 4 that is confusing me I need to pick up and knit 3 stitches from the selvedge edge(ribbing) for the button bands But then the working yarn is 3 stitches over. So, then, I have no working yarn. I hope you can help This should be very easy
Ok, many thanks for the link. Yes, pick up 3 sts from the ends of rows 1-3. On row 5 you’re to knit those 3sts then continue with the instructions across the row to the other side where you will again pick up 3sts for the other front band. So to begin row 5 your yarn will be correctly placed.
Sweet pattern.
Yea I think it’s cute I’m making it for my new grandson Thank you so much I don’t know why this confused me Hopefully, I won’t need to bother you again
It’s no bother. Congratulations on the new grandson! That’s terrific news. Please post a photo when you finish.
