pick up stitches for border

hi i have made a lovely cardigan but now need to pick up stitches to make the border and i have never done this before.

Anyone able to provide any diagrams to show me how to do this?

Here’s a nice video for picking up sts.


It’s helpful to place markers at the halfway point along the border and then at the quarter and thre-quarter points. Then you can try to pick up approximately the same number of sts in each section.
