I’m returning to knitting after many years so I’m “rusty” and am not knitting an outfit for a new baby. I’m currently knitting leggings and the instructions tell me to purl so many stitches and TURN. Then it gives directions for the next row. Could someone clarify what this means? I assume I just turn my knitting, but not I’m going backwards so what am I supposed to do? Hopefully I’m making some sense to someone!! Thanks.

hey! I’m in mke too!

Anyways…
usually when I turn it is to do a short row or a bobble. When it says turn you would flip it around and go back over the stitches you have just done. I would count the stitches in the next row and see if it lines up correctly!

Good Luck,
E

Are you knitting in the round or flat?

You turn your work before the end of the row to make short rows to make shaping. It doesn’t matter if you’re working flat or in the round.

Flat. And I used the method suggested by efooey and it works. I don’t know exactly what the end result is going to be but I’ll soon find out!! Never had this instruction before.
