Peanut Butter lovers

I am going to share a recipe I just got with you!

It’s a long story, but to compact it somewhat… We have a trailer up north. There is a small general store not far from there. We go there a lot. They have a section that has fresh baked goodies and sometimes they have these squares that are to die for! DH has always called them “Sex” (yes, they are that good).

A few nights ago DH worked the night shift (he drives a street car). A woman got on the car and she had just been to a church function. They got talking, because she was the only one on the car, and she gave him a square that was left over from this function. His eyes lit up. He asked her if she had made them. She said yes. Then he begged her to e-mail him the recipe, which she did the next day.

When we finished eating the pan of squares (or having sex as he called it) we wrote her a thankyou e-mail. I still have no idea what they are really called but if you like peanut butter, you’ll love these.

Here’s the recipe:

In a medium pan, melt one quarter of a cup of HARD (must be hard because it has to firm up again in the fridge) margarine and one half a cup of peanut butter. When they are melted and smooth, pour in one cup of butterscotch chips and stir until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. When the mixture is cool enough that you can touch the bottom of the pan without burning your finger, pour in two cups of coloured miniature marshmallows and stir until completely coated. Press mixture into a buttered 9X9 square baking dish and refrigerate for several hours until squares are firm and cold. Cut into squares. Keep refrigerated until serving. Enjoy!!! :woohoo:

yum! Thanks…I’ve done something like that too and added peanuts.

Peanuts in it sounds good too! Thanks!

I don’t know if you care or not, but they’re called Butterscotch Confetti Squares.

I just thought I’d add that I didn’t actually know that. I read the recipe and thought that my boyfriend would like them. When I asked if they sounded like something he would like, he said “Oh, that’s Butterscotch Confetti. Mom makes them at Christmas.” So there you go, my boyfriend knows his sweets.

You mean they are not called Sex? Thanks for the information. Now the question is, do I tell DH what their real name is or let him keep on thinking they are called what he wants them to be called? LOL

OOOOH - Peanutbutter Rocky road!!!

oh no, I liked them called sex much better.

I agree. Sex is much better.

Whatever they are called, they sound good and easy too…

They sound heavenly, but I bet those are not on my diet!! :teehee:

Here’s one where they use multicolored marshmallows…hence the confetti name I guess.

Maybe they should be called Butterscotch ConSEXY!

I wonder if it will work with soy butter…

Has to be hard margarine!!!

No i meant soy butter instead of peanut butter, sorry

Oh my god- they sound amazing. I love peanut butter more than anything.

Jan, I think you are on the wrong diet, because I checked, and it’s on mine!

Mine too! My diet clearly states that I can have “sex” whenever I want!

I HAD to!!! It was just toooo tempting…

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: Awww, don’t break his bubble!
Thanks muchly for posting the recipe… I know my granddarling is too young for sex but she’ll love these and I guess we’ll just call them “Confetti”. When she gets old enough and I’m still alive, lord willing, I’ll tell her the truth… Mary

I make those all the time but a bit differently. My hubby loves them.

1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch cihips
1 cup peanut butter

Melt until smooth
Let cool slightly
Add marshmallows.

I have also used peanut butter chips and have replaced the marshmallows with rice crispy cereal for a crunchy Hershey bar type square.
Ive never used margarine in them and they set up perfectly.
