Peace Fleece?

Has anyone ever knit with Peace Fleece? I’ve read mixed reviews – some say it’s really scratchy, others swear it’s soft. There’s a PF co-oprunning right now and the colors are soooo beautiful, but I’d love to get some more opinions about it…anyone??

Thanks!

I just used two skeins of it on a kitty bed. It isn’t scratchy, but it’s not what I would call soft. It feels like a basic wool–not super processed, but more traditional and sturdy. I haven’t felted the bed yet, but I’m assuming it will do fine. The colors are nice, though.

Julie, I am in that same co-op. I had an order, but then dropped it due to funds. I love the colors that are available. I have a skein of Peace Fleece that I have put into a ball but have not used yet. It is the thinner weight of the two. Nice soft color, but it is a little more “rough” of a wool. Like others have mentioned before. Maybe not a “next to the skin” wool, but certainly looks like a great yarn to work with. I say go for it!

I am a member of that Co-op too, and have been debating about what to get. I have a feeling this will be a great felting yarn. This is my first Co-op experience and I am a little nervous about it!

kitkat, I’ve done one co-op so far and it went soooo smoothly – the yarn was fantastic and everything went as it should – I wouldn’t be nervous about that part!

I just wish I could feel it…

So let me ask this: scratchier than Cascade 220? Or less scratchy?

It’s more scratchy than Cascade, but I LOVE IT
