Paw bib

I posted this on the KAL thread but couldn’t resist posting it here also. In the KAL thread, they were doing the “paw” dishcloth, which I wanted to do, but I also wanted to try the bib pattern in the Mason Dixon book. I combined them and voila:

Hi!

That looks awesome! The button on the top is really cute too. Great job!

Awww that is so cute!

Very cute!!

Great Idea…I love it! I have the bib pattern somewhere and I have the “paw” pattern…Did you have to change the “paw” any to make it fit? If so, can you share?

I used the paw print itself as-is; the paw dishcloth called for 36 stitches, and I believe that the bib called for 40. I stretched it a bit because I always slip the first stitch, so I used 42 stitches. I added 3 garter stitches at the beginning and end of each row, and used an extra 3-4 rows of garter in the beginning. You might notice that my garter border is wider all the way around, and I did that on purpose. Because the 2 patterns were so close to the same size (with the exception of the straps) it was pretty easy to merge them.

Oh good. I like the changes you made…can’t wait to try it.

Very cute!

That is really cute! What a clever idea you had to combine the two patterns.:notworthy:

That’s really cute.

I’m starting some out of the M-D books for our new little one, it’s a fun pattern.

The bib is too cute!!

Very cute!!! Love the color and the pattern!

:inlove: very cute!

Just ADORABLE!

Adorable!!! You did a great job on it!

I love it, great idea!

that’s so cute.

That turned out nicely. How big is the bib? My DD and I were talking recently that her store bought bibs were all so small. This looks to be a good size. What yarn did you use?

that is soooo cute! where can i find the paw pattern? i have the mason dixon book…(i have a friend with twin grandsons…this would be perfect!)

twoxover - the paw pattern is here: http://www.knittingknonsense.com/pawprintcloth.html
I got it from the KAL thread titled “Dog Lovers Knitalong: pawprint dishcloth”.

Marigold, I already sent it to the recipient, so I can’t measure. It was knit on 6" needles, and I used 42 stitches. Maybe it was about 9" wide? It was Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn. Here are my notes from the first page of this thread:
