Pattern UKHKA 57

Hi, does anyone know how the sleeves work? I read it as the pattern in the middle of the sleeve is 23 stitches (the cable). On row 3, 7, & 8 the pattern is only 20 stitches.

You can work the numbers for the center panel in different ways. The overall row numbers for rows 1 and 3 add up counting the increases in row 3 (for the smallest size, row 1 is 44sts and row 3 is 46sts).
In row 1 the sts, (C4B, p2)twice, k2, C4B, p2 add up to 20sts
In row 3 the sts, C4F, k2, p1, T3B,T3F, p1, C4F, k2 add up to 20sts

The pattern makes sense depending on how you define the central panel. Work out several of these rows on a swatch to see the braids and cables before working the sleeve.

Thank you. I was obviously reading it wrong. I will move my markers over. I really appreciate your help.

Quite often patterns are edited so that they take up less space or something. Stitch patterns don’t line up the way a knitter would logically like them but instead the individual stitches get shifted.
It’s a darling sweater. Have fun finishing up!
