I am looking for a pattern for 4 ply black cotton yarn. I started a bolero but decided I didn’t like it so I frogged it. I found black a bit hard on the eyes so need something fairly simple. Any suggestions?
Try a pattern that is knitted top down or as one piece. I have a problem knitting with dark colours like black. Especially when you have to sew it up. I’ve knitted two top down sweaters for my hubby in chocolate brown and dark blue. Doing it on the round made all the difference. I can share the pattern name with you if you like…![]()
Thank you @Spurs, I would love to know what pattern you used.
The men’s sweater was Drake by Todd Gocken and the ladies was Heavenly by Ankestrick. I have knitted the Heavenly at least 4 times. I absolutely love this sweater… I changed the sleeve and bottom edge to have 3 garter stitch rows as I like my borders to lie flat…
. You have to really pay attention to all your increases, but it is well worth it as it is a beautiful sweater…
. Hope this helps…![]()
Thank you @Spurs. I’ll check out the patterns ![]()
Hello , on Instagram I follow something called knitpicks they sell patterns as well as yarn. Anyhow they just put out a group of blanket patterns most of which call for black . They were very nice. I actually am really fond of granny square blankets done with black, I have a vintage one my mom found me years ago.it happens to be mostly really wool.
