Pattern, stuck on sleeve! Help

Hello,
I’m a relative beginner and knitting my first jumper from a pattern. On the sleeve pattern, it says working in stocking stitch throughout, inc 1 st at each end of 11 rows and every following 14th row to 48.

I begin with 38, and to get to 48… If i inc 1 on each side for 11 rows I’ll have 22 st more!!
What should I do?

I’m attaching a pic of the instructions… Please help!

That [I]is [/I]confusing. I’d go with an increase at each end of every 11th row until 46sts and then an increase 14 rows later to end at 48sts. The alternative is to increase at the ends of row 11 and then every 14th row to 48sts. Either way it’s a very gradual increase for the sleeve shaping.
Can you tell us the name of the pattern?
