Pattern sense check

Hi,

Looking for a sense check of the circled part of the pattern in the picture. Would you read this as 16 or 17 rib rows in total?

Thanks,

Lou x

Really ambiguous, huh? So much easier when the pattern says “16 times more” or “16 times total.” I would take it as 16 times total but probably that’s because ribbing is not my favorite thing to do.
You could look at your cast on and decide which side you would like to have facing out and let that determine the number of rows, 16 or 17.
What is the name of the hat pattern and designer?

Yes. Sorry, I could resist but didn’t. :stuck_out_tongue: I agree with salmonmac. Choose the side of the work you prefer and work the number of rows you need to like the result.

Thanks, its really nice to knit and works up quick, the pattern has also been super nice to follow, apart from obviously this conundrum!

:joy:

That is an early morning decision to be thought through as it has a turn up and the st st starts on a purl row ! Almost as confusing to visualise as the pattern but I’ll get there!

I’d say 17 total :+1:

I think one row more or less won’t make much of a difference! I’d read it as 16 times, myself.
