Pattern says end with a WS row. HELP!

I am a beginning knitter. VERY! :?? My pattern says to Begin stockinette stitch; work even for 4 rows; end with a WS row. What does that mean and what will it look like? I gotta ask or I’ll never know!

Welcome!

You’re right–you can learn if you don’t ask.

If a pattern says end with a WS row, then the last row you do before you do the next step in the pattern is a purl row–the bumpy one.

In this case for 4 rows, you’d k one row, p one row, k one row, p one row.

Thank you so much for the help. I’m glad I asked!
