Pattern Questions - Ladies Dressing Gown

I would like to make the pattern below (I removed the http):
knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/clothing/linda.htm

I do not understand this line after the second row in the Right Front section.
"(The edge stitch at the beginning of each pattern row, as given from ** to **, is omitted after the Moss Pattern border)"

Full text is:
"1st row: (K1, P1) five times, * K3, (yo, K2tog) twice, yo, K1, yo, K2, K2tog, K4, K2tog, K2, (yo, SSK) three times, repeat from * to the last stitch, K1

2nd row: K1, purl to the last 10 stitches, (P1, K1) five times
(The edge stitch at the beginning of each pattern row, as given from ** to **, is omitted after the Moss Pattern border)"

A sample pattern row is below.
“1st row: K1, * K3, (yo, K2tog) twice, yo, K1, yo, K2, K2tog, K4, K2tog, K2, (yo, SSK) three times, repeat from * to the last stitch, K1”

Any help help would be greatly appreciated.

The 12 row pattern is the part between the ** and **. Drop the k1 or p1 that’s given in those rows when working this section.

Yes, the pattern rows have an edge st at each end. The fronts of the dressing gown have a moss st border and then a pattern repeat. The line you’re asking about in the R front section (The edge stitch at the beginning of each pattern row, as given from ** to **, is omitted after the Moss Pattern border) is telling you to omit the edge st between the moss st edging and the beginning of the pattern sts.

Thank you both for the responses. I really appreciate the help.
