Pattern questions again

I’m knitting a sweater from Knit Simple magazine, and I’m confused about this line in the pattern:

“Join and work in k1, p1 rib for 2”, inc 1 st in each p st around"

I know k1, p1 rib, inc 1 and p st, but how can I do it all at once? Do I increase every purl stitch for 2"? That doesn’t make sense. It’s supposed to increase from 92 stitches to 138 stitches. Do I increase all the purl stitches on the first round? I really want to wear this for new year’s, so I’d love a response as soon as possible. Thanks!

No, do 2" in ribbing first,[I] then [/I]on the next row increase in the purl stitches.
