this is a fan pattern, (out of the knit kimono book page 87, in case anyone out there has it)…
The first WS is all purl - no problem there.
Next row (RS) - K1 (selvedge st: work in St st) K1 through back loop
(tbl) work stitches in pattern (multiples of ten), K1 (selvedge st ; work in St st).
Work rows 1-18 of chart 2 times, then work first 17 rows once.
Here is the question… the first K1 is the extra stitch, just like the last one (right)…for seams…(right?)… that extra K1 through back loop before starting out the pattern, they don’t mention it any more in the following rows!..
Do I continue doing that for the rest of the rows? it would make sense, since they ask you to cast on initially 93 stitches, 90 for the pattern, 2 for the beginning St st selvedge, and then that extra K!
(tbl)…
It doesnt say if I just continue Knitting that one all along, or St st, which would make it a purl on the wrong side…
Any suggestions for this beginner who is trying to advance?
Thanks…
