Pattern Question part 2

Yesterday I asked the following and got great advice (THANKS!)

I have a pattern for a really neat afghan that I want to do. The pattern is marked as “easy”. However I have a question/thought and wanted ya’lls advice.

The pattern states the following:

Cast on 197 sts.
Knit 4 rows, inc 26 sts evenly across 4th row, 223 sts.

If I understand it correctly, I would need to add a stitch after every 7th sts? using a yarn forward? (197/26)

Now my next question is at the end where I need to decrease back to 197 sts.

In the beginning, after every 7th sts, I would do a k1f&b, to increase to 223. In the end, should I at every 7th and 8th sts, do a k2tog? to get back to 197? (this is my assumption)

Pattern reads:
Rep 5th to 8th rows once, dec 26 sts eenly across 8th row 197 sts.

Am I thinking correctly??

Thanks everyone. I am such a newbie and still learning!!

:muah:

Sounds right to me. A kfb is the opposite of k2tog.
