Hi, I’m knitting a pattern mainly in stocking stitch with decrease rows. The pattern has the decrease row (mostly knit stitch based) and then says to ‘work 7 rows’ before doing another decrease row.

Would the first of the ‘work 7 rows’ then be a purl row instead of a knit?

The 7th row will be another knit row. If you decrease on row 1 then work 7 rows, the 9th will be the next decrease row. The decreases will be on rows 1,9,17,25 etc.
It’s not the usual way of expressing the decrease pattern but there you go!
What is the name of the pattern?
