Pattern Problems

Hi, I’m relatively new to knitting and I’m having a problem with the pattern I’m currently working on. The pattern says to M1 on the first row. How do I do this? M1 is between existing stitches and I don’t understand how to do it on my first row. Please help. Thanks

You could substitute a M1A


for the M1. That’d be easier to work on the first row.
What pattern are you making? Can you give us a name or a link to it?

Not any more than the M1. Give it a try on a swatch to see if you like it. There are several more increases on the Free Videos tab at the top of the page, under Increases that you might try.
