I am currently knitting some booties and am having a problem with understanding what I am to do. The pattern is found here, http://www.shepherdyarns.biz/Media/free_patterns/lace_up_bootees.pdf

The bit I dont understand is ‘SHAPE INSTEP’, where it says to knit up 42 sts. What does this mean, and how do I do it?

here’s the link…there’s an extra period in your link that is making it go to an error page.

It looks to me like it is telling you to pick up stitches along the side but someone smarta that me will be able to say for sure! :wink:

I’d say pick up and knit the stitches along there, too, thought I’m not any smarta!
