Pattern Instructions Question

I have been knitting the dog draft cheater from Knitted Toys for what seems like forever, and now that I am close to finishing I am stumped.

Here are the instructions I am working on:

Beg with a k row, work in st st, inc 1 st at each end of 3rd row, foll 4th row and foll 6th row.

So, I increased on each end of the 3rd row. Do I increase again on the next row and then 2 rows after that?

OR, is it telling me that after the 3rd row, I increase 4 rows later, and then again after 6 more rows?

I just don’t understand if I should end up with a total of 6 rows or 13 rows?

Thanks in advance! This was supposed to be finished for my son’s 3rd b-day so I am in a hurry!

You increase on the 3rd row, the 7th row and the 13th row.

When a pattern says `the following xth row" you start counting from the row after the one you did the inc/dec on.
