I’m working on this pattern but I’m already confused.
In the first line it says to work the moss stitch (MOSS ST:
Row 1: * K1, P1 *, repeat from -.
Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat row 2. ) back and forth on the needle with 3 GARTER sts on each side.
So I’m confused. Do I do the moss stitch and then the garter stitch, or…I don’t understand what it means. When I look at the picture of the result it just looks like a garter stitch to me. Would really appreciate some help!

The garter stitch looks like it’s a border since it’s done each side. The moss stitch is in the middle. It’s just written a little weird. What they are trying to say is this-
Row 1: k3, k1, p1, repeat from - till the last 3 stitches, k3
Row 2: k3, Knit the purls and purl the knits till last 3 stitches, k3
If you know what your stitches look like you can do this easily. Here’s a sample of ribbing, but you can see what a knit and a purl looks like.
Thanks for your reply, I kinda figured it out. I looked on some other forums too and it seems that DROPS has vague patterns most of the time, there’s a lot of other people that had trouble with it too. Thanks though!
Yeah, I never bother with Drops even though they have a lot of patterns. I don’t like they way they are written and don’t want to have to rewrite them. There’s too many other patterns to fight one.
ETA - they probably have many patterns that are perfectly fine, but the ones I’ve come across…not so much.
