Pattern Help

I’m knitting a sweater for the first time and am having a little bit of a hard time reading the pattern correctly. If someone could break this down for me that would be awesome its;

Row 8 : k3, SSk, Knit - 18(19,20,21,23) sts. ( im 19)
Row 9 and all WS rows: Purl
Cont to dec on foll row as est, then every 4th row once, then every 6th row 4 times - 12 (13,14,15,17)

finding this to be mildly confusing, haha.

On Row 8 you’re doing a decrease at the beginning of the row. Do the same on row 10, (k3, k2tog, knit the rest of the sts) then the 4th row after that which is row 14, then on rows 20, 26, 32 etc, until you get down to 13 sts.
