Pattern Help

I am knitting a pattern it is a 6 Stitch Cable Pattern
I have two questions

I completed row 1 which is p3, k6 there are 50 stitches in the row, until the last 4 end p3 and k1.

Row 2 says to knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you. so do I knit the sts that I knit in row one and purl the sts that I just purled?

The second question

row 7 says k1 *ps, c6b repeat from * across

when it says c6b, I put 3 stitches on the cable needle, then knit 3 regularly then knit the 3 from the cable pattern, right?

Row 2 says to knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you. so do I knit the sts that I knit in row one and purl the sts that I just purled?
No, you actually do just the opposite. But for most people it is much easier not to think of it that way, but just to look at the stitches as you are ready to work them and if the st is the smooth vee you knit it, if it has the little bump right under the needle you purl it. There is a “sticky thread” about knitting the knits and purling the purls. You might like to look at it. It is on the first page of the questions folder, near the top where the ones that don’t change are.

row 7 says k1 *ps, c6b repeat from * across
I’ll bet this reads “k1, *p3, c6b repeat from *” and you just made a little typo with the “ps”.

when it says c6b, I put 3 stitches on the cable needle, then knit 3 regularly then knit the 3 from the cable pattern, right?
Yes, with one important thing to remember. Since this says c6b when you have the 3 stitches on the cable needle hold them behind the work not in front while you knit the first 3 sts. I say it is important, but if this is your only kind of cable on the whole thing you are making you could just as well make the cables all as c6f (hold in front) and there would not be a radical change in the way things look. But it is not the exact same cable the designer had in mind. Whichever way you do it do them all the same.

Row 2 says to knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you. so do I knit the sts that I knit in row one and purl the sts that I just purled?

Nope, you’re starting a new row, so you knit the ones that look like knit in this row and purl the ones that look like purls. You might look at the pictures, video and comments in the thread ‘Knit the Knits and Purl the Purls’.
