Pattern Help

I’m attempting to knit from a pattern for the very first time, but i’m having a hard time understanding.

Row 1: K3 P1 knit to last 4 sts P1 K3
Row 2: P3 K1 purl to last 4 sts K1 P3
Repeat these 2 rows until piece measures 16 inches ending with a wrong side row.

Have I got this right?

Knit Stitch 3, Purl 1, Continue knitting until there are only 4 stitches left and then Purl 1 and Knit 3,
then same kinda thing except reversed.

But then do I alternate these 2 rows until the piece measures 16 inches? and what does a wrong side row mean?

thanks so much for any help!!!

You’ve got it right. You’ll just keep repeating row 1, row 2 until you reach 16 inches.

Your row 1 is the “right side” of the knitting, and your row 2 in the “wrong side”. That just means that you’ll finish after knitting a row 2.

thanks XD

i am doing an afghan that is 93 stitches. it is a knit 6 and and knit and purl 3 till end of row and knit 6. if i want to add stiches how many would i add and would it be an even or odd number

You have it right try and don’t give up!!

I’m not sure. If you’re doing k6, and then repeating (k3, p3) ending with k6 on the end, it looks like a multiple of 6 sts. But that doesn’t go into 93 at all, so it must be a little different. Do you have a link to the pattern, or can you write out the first row?
