Hi everyone,
I’m experimenting with new patterns and stitches and I’d like to try the Bamboo Cloth here: http://www.jimsyldesign.com/~dishbout/kpatterns/knit4.html
What I don’t understand is: Row 1: K3, *YRN to M1, K2, pass M1 over K2 * Rep to last 3 sts K3.
What’s YRN to M1 and what’s pass M1 over K2?
Can someone translate this to English.
Thanks,
Tamar
Okay, I’m going to give this a shot.
YRN to M1 = yarn round needle to make 1 (this is the same as YO, which makes a new stitch, hence “to make 1”). YO is listed in Amy’s “abbreviations explained” tab (look up above) if you need to know how to work it.
Pass M1 over K2 = pass the new stitch (M1) that you made over the two stitches you just knit. This is sort of like passing over when you cast off.
I GOT IT!!!
Thank you!
I almost had it right the first time. I went wrong on the “pass M1 over K2”. I pulled the 2nd stitch over just like in BO instead of the third as in this pattern.
Going to try the Bamboo Variation now.
