Pattern help

Hi everyone, I’m struggling to understand what to do for the last part of an instruction for a row. The instruction is: sl1, p2;p17 transferring these 17 St’s onto a St holder or cable; p14; p17, transferring these 17 onto a 2nd st holder or cable; p2, k1-20 sts.
I don’t know what to do with the k1-20 instruction as I’m at the end of the row and have no more stitches. On other rows it’s clear when I cast on using the CO abbreviation.

Welcome to KH! Is it the 20 at the end that’s confusing you? That means you should have 20 stitches on your needle after moving the sets of 17 stitches to holders. HTH

If you have too few stitches maybe look back at the previous rows and see if you might have missed something?
What pattern is it?

I have the right number, thank you, I’d just never seen that description for stitch numbers before.
I’m trying an amigurumi knit for the first time. Hopefully I’ll produce a Jackelope toy

Thank you so much, I’ve never come across the stitch number being described like that. I have the right number of stitches so I’m on track once again, now I understand that bit.

Sounds cute. I hope you’ll share a photo when you finish.

Usually I’d expect to see p2, k1. (20 sts.) and had to count to figure out what it was wanting. I’m glad it worked out for you.

Sometimes I thin amigurumi patterns have their own occult way of writing patterns.
