Pattern help

Looking for some clarification. Pattern reads:
Row1: k1,ssk, k2, place remaining 13 sts on stitch holder
Row 2: purl
Row 3: k1, k2tog, k1
Row 4: purl. Place remaining 3 stitches on stitch holder.
Join yarn to neck stitches on holder
Row 1: k10, k2tog, k1

I understood join yarn to stitches on holder was to put all stitches back on needle and continue.
When I get to the second ‘row 1’ I end up with 3 extra sts.
Was I to use to separate holders?

Yes, the last three sts were to be in a separate holder. And to join yarn to the neck sts (13) you would leave the yarn hanging at the end of the three sts and join a new yarn at (presumably) the right end of the neck with out turning.

What is the name of the pattern so we can look it up and be sure.

It’s the basic pullover-grey trim. Out of knit in a day for baby

Have I found the right pattern?

Yes, the pattern shows the three sts ended on a WS row.
But the join to the 13 neck sts should start on the RS row.

That’s the one. I think I’ve got it sorted now. Thank you!

You are welcome.
