Pattern help: What does "ssl" mean?

Hello. I’m new to this site. I have been knitting for about six months now. I am currently working on a Dishcloth pattern I got online. I am stuck.

The pattern says "yo, ssl, k1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, ssk, etc…

I am confused as to what “ssl” means. I can’t seem to find anything about it online. Is it a different abbreviation I’m not familiar with, or possibly a typo by the pattern author. I thought maybe it was meant to read, "yo, SSK, k1, k2tog, etc…as in the rest of the row.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is Secure Socket Layer. Too much tech is bad for you.

I’d bet you’re right and it’s a typo – have you tried writing the author to find out?

Unfortunately, there was no e-mail or link to the author on the pattern. I guess I’ll just work it as a “ssk”. Thanks for the help.

Is there a picture of the finished object?

Yeah, it’s not very big though.

SSK should work - that gives you 3 YOs and 3 decs in the st repeat, so they balance out.

What she said!

Ok, thanks so much for all of the help.
