Pattern help plz

Could someone please tell me what does the highlighted part in this pattern mean.?
I’m stuck on this part. Appreciate some help.
What is inside the brackets in this step eg :*k28 (8-29-22 ) ??

Hi, Depending on which size you are making you will either K 28(1st size), 8(2nd size),29(3rd),22(4th).K2tog. Repeat (whichever size) and the k2tog around until the last (again whichever size you are working) sts are left and knit them. You should then have the total that corresponds to the size you are making left on the needles. You then knit 1-2-2-3 rounds and contiue to the next part.
Hope this helps

Thank you for taking out the time to read and reply.
The sizes are for kids ages 4, 6, 8 and 10 years old. I’m making this for a 6 year old.

For size 6, or the second set of figures, you k8,k2tog and repeat this to the last 12 stitches which will leave you with 192 sts. Knit the last 12sts. Knit 2 rounds then continue on with the instructions for size 6

Yes after reading your reply this morning i did the math and finally understood.
 Thank you once again. I appreciate your help.

Really stunning! You’ve knit this so nicely. Thanks very much for the photo.
What is the name of the pattern and what yarn did you use?

Thank you.
I used the red heart acrylic yarn and the blue is caron yarn. Its a free pattern from yarnspiration.

The 192 etc in brackets at the end of instructions is a stitch count for each size. You will use this to count and check your work at the end of each row. This ensures that you did the sequence correctly. It helps if you print this out and circle or highlight the size 6 you are doing. Multisize patterns can be a pain to figure out where you went wrong if you accidentally do the wrong size.
