Pattern help please

I’m working on the sleeves of a baby sweater and the pattern says this:

Sleeve Shaping
Next row: Knit 1, make 1, knit 18, make 1, knit 1. (22 stitches)

Continue in stockinette stitch, increasing same way every sixth row until there are 32 [34, 36] stitches on needle.

Ok, so on the 6th row I would Knit 1, make 1, knit to the last stitch, Make 1, knit?

Or do I knit 1, make 1, knit 18, make 1 and knit to the end?

Also, does it matter which M1 method I use?

The first one, just make an increase 1 st in from the edge and knit the sts in between. You can probably use any M1 you like.

The only thing I’d add about which M1 to use is that some of them leave a tiny hole in the fabric (how noticeable this is tends to depend on how thick and fuzzy your yarn is, and how tight of a gauge you are knitting to). The video page for increases shows several different methods for make one.
