Hey ladies - I’m working on a pattern but it is knit flat - I want to convert it to knitting in the round - can anyone help me please - I’m just unsure how to change the ssp and p2tog for knitting in the round - I’ll post 2 lines here and maybe someone can help me
I’ll put X’s in the #'s so that I’m not posting the exact pattern.
I hate seaming, so was thrilled to find a book on designing your own sweaters in the round. I have already made a pullover and a cardigan and have gotten a way better fit than I ever did following a pattern.
I have a large stash of yarn and always had difficulty going through my patterns and matching what yarn I had to a design worked in a specific yarn.
It seems there are more books out there that encourages you to free think design and compensate for personal body shape.
I think the easiest way for you to convert these flat patterns is to learn to read charts, they represent the fabric you get not the action you use to create it. Then make charts from the written instructions supplied (if no chart given) and knit from the chart, round or flat.
