Pattern help needed for Rowan Selene

I am working on the left front, size M (secod one).

Shape armhole
Cast off 5 [6: 7: 8: 9] sts at beg of next row. 42 [46: 51: 57: 62] sts.
Work 1 row, ending with RS facing for next row.
Dec 1 st at armhole edge of next 5 [7: 9: 11: 11] rows, then on 2 foll alt rows. 35 [37: 40: 44: 49] sts.
Work 1 row, ending with RS facing for next row.

For this part, every time I decrease 1 st (using knit 2 together) on the RS, I purl one row normally.
Did I do it correctly? Or should I have done the decreasing on purl rows too?

Shape neck
Dec 1 st at end of next row and at same edge on foll 2 rows, then on foll 9 [9: 10: 10: 11] alt rows, then on 6 foll 4th rows and at same time dec 1 st at armhole edge on next and 0 [0: 0: 1: 2] foll alt rows.16 [18: 20: 23: 26] sts.
Work 1 row, ending with a RS facing for next row.

Now I am to start this part. My questions are:

  • Should I continue to use knit 2 together to do my decrease, or should I use slip slip knit? How should I know which one to use?
  • Like my doubt with decreasing armhole, should I decrease only the RS, or should I actually decrease WS (using purl 2 together?) too?

Many thanks!!

There are 3 Rowan patterns named Selene. Maybe this one?
After the cast off the next row is a purl. Then work the initial decreases every row. So for the second size, call the initial cast off row 1, purl row 2, decrease at the armhole edge on rows 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. Then dec on rows 11 and 13. Row 14 is a purl row and the next row is a RS row, ready for the next step. So yes, the initial decreases include purl rows (the even number rows above).

For the left front the end of the RS row will be the neck edge. Decreases there are usually worked as k2tog to that the stitch slants up and to the right, following the line of the neck. You don’t have to work the decrease that way. If you prefer, you could work ssk at the neck edge. The ssk will slant up and to the left.
Best way to judge this is to make a swatch and work several rows of decreases both ways, maybe ssk near the beginning of row and k2tog near the end.

For the decreases, call the next row, row 1. Dec at the neck edge on rows 1, 2 and 3 then on rows 5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19 and 21. Dec on rows 25,29,33,37,41 and 45.
At the same time, dec at the armhole edge on row 1.
Yes, there will be a decrease at the neck edge on a purl row (row 2). If you decide to use a k2tog on the RS (odd number) rows then a p2tog will work on the even number row.
If you go with a ssk, then work a p2tog through the back loop on the purl row.

Thank you very much!
I guess I will keep the armhole decreases that I already did, becuase they don’t look too wide and I don’t really want to open up all these already knitted rows…
The pattern is Selene by Rowan, I wrote it in the title

Yes, as long as it looks fine it seems reasonable to keep the decreases as is. Pretty sweater. Have fun with it!
(I initiallly missed the pattern name and then wasn’t sure which of the Selene patterns was yours.)
