I’m working on my first big knitting project, Barbara Walker’s Learn-to-Knit Afghan. I’ve done the first 5 squares, and a couple in the Twist-Stitch section. I tried starting on one of the slip stitch patterns last night, thinking it would be easy, but I’m completely confused.
Rows 1-4 were no problem, but the instructions for Row 5 say:
k1, * sl 1 wyib, and here’s the confusing bit - insert needle from front under loose strand of Row 2 and knit next st, sl 1 wyib, k1, rep from *.
Which needle? Right or left? And do I just slip in onto the right needle, or knit it? If so, how? On the next row, does it create another stitch? Help! :wall:
