Pattern for seat cover for car?

Hello again!

Does anyone have a pattern for car seats? I have leather seats that are unheated and they are COLD in the winter. It’s also a convertible, so they get HOT in the summer. I bought a set of covers from WalMart, but then realized that since it’s a convertible, the seatbelt is in the seat! So, I immediately thought about making a cover for just the bottom part of the seat.

Here is my dilemma: I’ve only been knitting for about 2 months and only have 5 scarves and two hats under my belt.

Anybody have a pattern for a seat cover? Yarn type? Size needles?

Thanks!!!

The amount of knitting that would require makes my head hurt. :roflhard:

I don’t know of any patterns, but maybe you can find something here.

You might be able to knit a big square with eyelets all the way around that you could weave elastic through.

Or maybe try something that you could felt to cover just the portion of the seat where you actually sit and the back of the seat where your back goes, held in place with I-cord ties. Sorta kinda like the chair pads for dining room table chairs.
