Are you using straight or circular needles? It may be that you need the extra length of at least a 24inch circular.
Hi using straight needlle doesn’t say I need circular although I had purchasing one…pattern saying for yolk knit in sleeve and continue across back but can’t fit needle to stiches cause have cast off some stitches for armhole. --back-----cast off >>>>>-----sleeve—siide. Really stumped! Thanks for input really appreciate x
Usually the circular needle gives you the extra space for all the sweater and sleeve parts. It may not be necessary if you have long enough straight needles.
You probably have left front _____back_____right front on the needle with the cast off sts for armhole indicated by the lines. That’s where the sleeves will go. See if you can knit across the right front, then a sleeve, back, a sleeve and finally the left front.
The cast off for the underarms will gap open but that’s ok. You’ll close up the sleeve and body underarms later.
Thanks for the info…circular needle have worked a treat…many thanks again x
