Pattern description

I’m working on a baby sweater… from Sweet Layettes To Knit
Pattern #3, Winsome White.

Row 1: K1, (P1,K1) across… Does this mean for the entire row, begin with K1 then P1, K1 each time…

It would look like K1, P1,K1; K1, P1,K1; K1, P1,K1;… etc.

Thanking you in advance,
cair :muah:

Everything inside the parentheses () is repeated. So your row would be:

K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, etc…

Thanks so much Cindy, I would have not done this… I would have included the first stitch outside the parenthesis… : ) Oh brother!..

Glad I could help. It does take awhile to figure out what all the abbreviations mean. BUT that’s why we’re here!!
